Werk it Moms + Capital One are proud to present the Mamapreneur Brunch & Learn series! This series was created to empower, connect and educate South Florida-based moms through a brunch-style workshop taught by a local mom business owner.

Join us for an intimate, catered brunch catered specifically to the mom entrepreneur – or as we like to call them Mamapreneurs!

About Jamila Powell 

Jamila Powell is a mother, attorney, and entrepreneur. Jamila enjoys sharing her steps to success, and her vision for the future. She is the founder of Maggie Rose Salon, one of the top texture salons in the country. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, and raised in Ellicott City, Maryland. Jamila earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business, Business Logistics from The Pennsylvania State University. She then returned home to pursue a career in law.

Jamila graduated from George Washington University in Washington D.C., with her Juris Doctor Law degree. In 2004 she moved to sunny South Florida to begin her career as a Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Officer. Jamila has always had a passion for creating and building businesses. After becoming a Mom, she decided to open a salon to encourage people to embrace their beauty on the inside and out. Her continued passion for entrepreneurship has
allowed the business to grow and flourish. Jamila’s goal is to open several Maggie Rose Salons around the world, to cater to men and women with all types of textured hair.

After this workshop, you will understand:

  • How to diversify within and outside your business to create additional streams of income
  • How to invest in your inner self and own your beauty
